Active Adult Communities

The Triangle Area is home to several Active Adult communities. Some of these communities are age-restricted (55+)[1] and some are age-targeted[2] toward mature buyers. All of the communities feature low maintenance homes and are designed for active minded adults; many of whom have moved from larger family homes across the country and within the Triangle. The communities typically have extensive club houses and amenity centers that serve as a focal point for meeting new friends while participating in various social activities and clubs.

[1] Age-Restricted - means that residents must be over a certain age to purchase there (in most instances, only one member of the family has to meet the age requirement, which is usually 55). These communities usually have limitations on how long visitors under a certain age are allowed to stay in the home and/or how old children the children of the purchaser must be to live full time in the home.

[2] Age-Targeted - means that communities target active adults over a certain age, but do not have any restrictions on who can live within the community. This type of community is open to all ages.
